"Gypsy Sexuality - about intimacy: Rroma and Outsider Perspectives"

"And this book is very rare. Firstly, we can read that someone who wants to be an expert / activists of Roma, and readers / ke who know nothing about the Roma, minority rights or civil rights policies in Eastern Europe. Interesting to female students and students of gender studies, but also for people who have never taken this kind of book in hand. I deals with some very important issues of human rights neglecting other books. brings together words of Romani activists and non-Roma writers and writer, highly Roma women and women on the street. It is hard to find.

An important contribution is to examine where they come from and why certain stereotypes persist. The book provides interesting ideas about the history and present ideas about the gypsies as a wild, free spirit, who are poor because they will not conform, the girls that are too terrible to sit in school, that teenage mothers because they are Gypsies fiery creatures. It talks about the stereotypes that outsiders have of the Roma, but also - and this is very rare - about stereotypes that Roma have of each other, the Vlachs Romungrima, one group about another. The story and how Roma perceive their interactions with men in the household and the business and political environment. And, as the title suggests, looks and how some traffic and Roma with Roma and non-Roma in the bedroom. This is not done for fun or foolishness, but as a window into other topics.

This is not the first book that tells how state policies related to sexuality and reproductive health for Roma, but the first one to connect with family life, European cultural history and the wider picture. "
